Fishing & Dams
Explore the Granite Belt
Storm King Dam and Connolly Dam are both around 15–20 minutes from 31 The Rocks and are popular local spots for freshwater fishing, particularly bass and yellowbelly.
These are quiet, scenic places best suited to relaxed shore-based fishing, picnics, or a slow afternoon beside the water. Please bring your own gear.
If you're heading further south towards the NSW border dams — including Pikes Creek and Glenlyon — a NSW recreational fishing licence is required before fishing.
Early mornings and late afternoons tend to be the most peaceful times out there, especially during the warmer months.
