Wood-burning fireplaces
Your Villa Guide
Every villa has its own wood-burning fireplace — the heart of a winter night here.
Firewood and kindling is stacked on your verandah; fire starters are in your villa next to the fireplace with the lighter.
There's something deeply comforting about a Granite Belt evening with the fire glowing.
Fireplace Safety:
- Use only firewood provided
- Do not burn paper, leaves or rubbish
- Keep the fire door closed while in use
- Open a window slightly while burning
- Avoid using the bathroom exhaust fan at the same time
- The heater becomes extremely hot. Please handle only using the door handle and airflow tool provided
How to build a Perfect Fire:
Step 1 — Place two medium logs in the fire bed.
Step 2 — Position a single fire starter between them with kindling layered above.
Step 3 — Add small pieces of hardwood on top, at right angles.
Step 4 — Finally place one medium piece of hardwood, light the starter and close the door.
Step 5 — Keep airflow vent open until established. Once burning well, reduce airflow to halfway to build glowing coals. You're aiming for steady warmth — not roaring flames. Settle in. Let the flames do their work.
One firm rule: don't run the fire and the A/C at the same time. Pick one — they fight each other and burn through both wood and power.
Firewood is included May to September. Outside that window, a $30 setup fee applies. We provide sufficient firewood for an average two-night stay. Running low mid-stay? Please do not collect timber from the bushland. Use the Services request and we'll bring more across.
